Frequently Asked Questions

  • I provide therapy to any and all: children (4+), couples, families, siblings, individuals, and parents.

I have experience treating anxiety disorders (general, social, acute), childhood trauma, depression and suicidality, grief, living with chronic illness, children of high conflict divorce, sibling issues, marriage conflicts, betrayal, and couples stuck in reocurring conflict.

  • Therapy offers more than just a place to talk—it provides the support of a trained professional who understands how thoughts, emotions, relationships, and past experiences shape the way we live and relate to others.

A therapist brings both compassion and clinical training—asking thoughtful questions, recognizing patterns, and guiding you toward healing in a thoughtful and intentional way. Rather than giving quick advice, therapy creates space for deeper understanding, lasting growth, and more secure ways of relating to yourself and others.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through the contact form, or email and call me directly —I will walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

In the consultation call, I will inform you about scheduling, billing, my approach, etc. This way, you can get an understanding if it will be a good fit or not. I can offer referrals in town if I cannot meet your needs.

All forms will be filled out electronically though the Simple Practice Client Portal.

  • Treatment varies per person and needs. As the client, you always have the choice to continue or end treatment. After the first sessions, we will collaborate to determine goals, frequency, and duration of sessions. Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. As progress is made, we can adjust the frequency based on your needs and goals. However, therapy is a flexible and fluid process, and you always have the right to change directions or focus. This is your journey!

  • My fee is $100 per 50 minute session, due at the time of service. Please reach out to me for reduced rate needs.

I do not accept insurance, but can generate superbills for clients to file independently to their insurance provider for reimbursement if the carrier provides mental health benefits for out-of network proviers.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged a $50 cancellation fee. Missed appointments (no-shows) will be charged the full session fee.

I understand that unexpected situations arise, and I will always take extenuating circumstances into consideration when possible.

I accept Visa, Masterard, Discover, Amex, and FSA/HSA Cards through the Simple Practice Portal.

  • You can expect a calm, supportive space where you feel heard and respected.

I pay close attention—to what is said and what may be harder to put into words. Many clients share that they feel truly heard in our work together. From there, we begin to build insight, clarity, and new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Whether I’m working with a child, an individual, or a couple, I tailor each session to fit your needs. With children, this may look like play and creative expression; with adults and couples, it often involves exploring communication, emotional patterns, and the deeper dynamics shaping your relationships.

I am not just hoping for symptom relief, but to help you move toward a greater sense of wholeness, connection, and confidence in yourself and your relationships.

  • Research consistently shows that therapy is effective for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, loss, and stress. More importantly, the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist plays a significant role in the outcome. When you feel safe, understood, and supported, meaningful change becomes possible.

  • Yes. What you share in therapy is private and protected by law. Confidentiality is an important part of creating a safe space where you can speak openly and honestly.

There are a few exceptions required by Texas law and professional ethics. I may be required to break confidentiality if:

    • there is concern about serious harm to yourself or someone else

    • there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or disabled individual

    • records are subpoenaed by a court of law

    • you provide written permission (e.g. ROI) for information to be shared

I will always do my best to discuss these situations with you when possible so there are no surprises.

How does confidentiality work with children?

When working with children, I balance respecting your child’s privacy while also keeping parents appropriately informed. I do not share every detail of what your child says in session, as this helps build trust and allows them to open up more freely.

Instead, I provide general updates, themes, and guidance so you feel supported in helping your child outside of sessions. If there are safety concerns, I will always communicate those directly with you.

How does confidentiality work for couples?

In couples therapy, the relationship itself is considered the “client.” This means I do not keep secrets between partners that could impact the therapy process.

If one partner shares something individually that is important to the relationship, I will support you in bringing that into the joint sessions. My role is to remain neutral and support honesty, safety, and trust within the relationship.

  • I offer both in person and virtual sessions, allowing flexibility based on your needs and preferences.

  • Your experience matters. I encourage open conversation about what is or isn’t working so we can adjust the approach or explore other options that better support your needs.
